From August 2020, VINATUNA and WWF Vietnam have started implementing activities in the project "GDST Electronic Traceability System".

Success in the seafood industry increasingly depends on access to reliable information about the origins of seafood products – including basic information about the conditions of production within fisheries and aquaculture farms.  At present, however, this information is not consistently accessible or easily verifiable.

GDST standard will standardize key information data, it will be much easier to meet growing commercial and regulatory needs to prove product legitimacy, contribute to sustainability and/or avoid costly scandals. By standardizing specifications on technical content and identifying their authoritative sources, it helps to reduce costs, increase accessibility to new suppliers or customers, and simplify Verification.

From August 2020, VINATUNA and WWF Vietnam have started implementing activities in the project "GDST Electronic Traceability System". The project has completed platforms on Mobile app and website platforms. In which, the traceability activity will clarify the information from the vessel to the final products. This helps the exchange of product origin information by processing companies to buyers with access to verifiable information to ensure legal origin and responsible sourcing of seafood products quickly, conveniently and fully for operational/commercial business needs.
