RECOGNIZING EFFORTS IN IMPLEMENTING THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE FIP CODE 2020 TRACEABILITY SYSTEM FOR VIETNAM TUNA PRODUCTS

VINATUNA has issued a certificate recognizing the GOOD IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FIP CODE (Fishery Improvement Project Code) TRACEABILITY SYSTEM within the framework of the Vietnam YFT FIP project to 10 tuna processing companies. Through the evaluation process conducted by the BV assessment organization, the traceability systems of these companies meet and perform well according to the criteria set by the FIP CODE standard. It is possible to trace from the final product back to the fishing vessel.

 

RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENT ON FIP CODE 2020 FOR VIETNAMESE YELLOWFIN TUNA PRODUCTS

VINATUNA has awarded certificates recognizing the GOOD IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FIP CODE TRACEABILITY SYSTEM (Fishery Improvement Project Code) within the framework of the Vietnam YFT FIP project to 10 tuna processing companies.

Through the evaluation process by the BV assessment organization, the traceability system of the companies meets and performs well according to the criteria set by the FIP CODE standard. It is possible to trace from the final product back to the fishing vessels.

9. Mai Tin (Evertrust) in Cam Ranh audited in 2019 & 2020
10. T & H Nha Trang Co., Ltd audited in 2019 & 2020

In 2020, VINATUNA and WWF implemented the FIP CODE assessment for members of the Vietnamese yellowfin tuna FIP.  Among them, 16 tuna processing companies—3 companies underwent the third FIP Code system assessment, 7 companies were assessed for the second time, and 6 companies were assessed for the first time.

All companies are striving to implement the FIP Code system and apply it with the aim of improving the traceability and transparency of Vietnamese tuna products, as well as the desire to integrate and meet the requirements of international markets.
