According to the statistics data of the VINATUNA, after a long decline in exports continuously, Vietnam's tuna exports to the EU in July showed a postitive sign, up nearly 65% compared to June. Tuna export turnover in July reached 63,833,660 USD.
In particular, the export value of canned tuna HS16 code reached 24,041,541 USD with the proportion of exports to the US (52.4%) accounting for the highest proportion, respectively, behind South Korea (17.1%) and the EU (15.2%). Tuna export value of tuna HS0304 code reached 23,397,594 USD with the highest billion in exports to US (40%), followed by EU (28.4%).

One of the reasons for this growth is the impact of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) coming into effect on August 1st, 2020, which caused importers to EU imports increased imports from Vietnam.
