From April 7–9, 2026, in Quy Nhon City (formerly Binh Dinh Province, now part of Gia Lai Province), the Directorate of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment convened a National Workshop on Data Review and Annual Catch Estimation for Tuna Fisheries.

NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT — LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF THE TUNA FISHERY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN VIETNAM ACCORDING TO THE MSC STANDARD The Vietnam Tuna Association (VinaTuna) would like to announce that the “Kickoff Meeting of the Vietnam Skipjack Tuna Purse Seine Improvement Programme under MSC Standards”, originally scheduled for 08:00 AM on November 7, 2025 (Friday) at DAPHOVINA Hotel, 32 Bac Son Street, Bac Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, will be postponed until further notice. -
Vietnam Skipjack Tuna Fishery Joins MSC Improvement Program On October 02, 2025, the Vietnam skipjack tuna purse seine fishery was officially recognized by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as eligible to join the MSC Improvement Program (MSC-IP). This milestone marks a crucial step toward achieving the world-renowned MSC ecolabel for sustainable fisheries.
