VINATUNA INVITES FISHERS TO JOIN THE COPPA PROGRAM

As part of the “Vietnam Skipjack Tuna Purse Seine Fishery Improvement Program under the MSC Standard,” VINATUNA continues to implement fisheries data collection through the COPPA mobile application.

As part of the “Vietnam Skipjack Tuna Purse Seine Fishery Improvement Program under the MSC Standard,” VINATUNA continues to implement fisheries data collection through the COPPA mobile application.

COPPA enables fishers to record important information directly during each fishing trip, including:

✅ Catch species, catch volume and fish size✅ Time and location of encounters with endangered, threatened and protected (ETP) species✅ Photos documenting the proper handling, rescue and safe release of ETP species at sea✅ Good fishing practices carried out during fishing operations

To expand the program, VINATUNA is seeking captains and crew members from tuna purse-seine vessels to join the program and record data using COPPA.

💰 ALLOWANCES: VND 1,500,000 PER PERSON PER MONTH

Participants need an Android smartphone and are expected to record all required information in accordance with the program’s guidance. The project team will provide support with application installation and use throughout the participation period.

The information recorded by fishers will help expand the available data from fishing operations at sea, support research, and document and promote good practices within fishing communities.

Interested captains and crew members are invited to send VINATUNA a direct message through this Facebook page for detailed guidance and support from our project staff.
